Lot Description

[Science, Medicine & Mathematics] [Edison, Thomas A.] Two Autograph Notes

Autograph Note, signed No place, Sunday, July 30, 1855. 1 p. "Tho. S. Page/Sunday July 30th, 1855/Thomas A. Edison." The eight-year-old Edison has embellished his signature by drawing a face in the loop of the letter "h" in "Thomas" and another face in the loop of the "E" in "Edison." The addressee, Tho. S. Page, was presumably a relation through the marriage of Edison's oldest sister, Marion Wallace (1829-1900) to Homer Page. With: Autograph Note No place, no date. Presumably to his second wife, Mina Miller Edison: "Our dear little mamma/don't want to leave her/nice home & come up to/keep Co with her lover-why?/no real love is the reason." Both notes in frame with an original photograph of Edison, Mina, and other individuals.
