Oxford: John Litchfield and James Short for Henry Cripps, 1624. Second edition, corrected and augmented by the author (the second of five lifetime editions). Folio. Near-contemporary brown calf, stamped in blind and in gilt, burgundy morocco spine label, corners heavily rubbed, joints rubbed, losses at head and foot of spine; a few small paper losses in gutter of title-page, light creasing and soiling to same; scattered light spotting to text; a few quires toned; tear within upper right text of leaf C4, with no loss of printing; small paper breaks at bottom of text of leaf M3, with negligible loss of printing; light creasing and toning to leaf 2O2; discoloration in gutter of leaves 2Z4, 3A1, 3F4, and 3G1; some damp-wrinkling and dampstaining in top margins of leaves 3Z3-4D3; other scattered small paper faults; some creasing and dust smudging to last two leaves (4D3 and 4); old ownership signatures on title-page (one crossed out) and verso of front free endpaper; small paper faults and some creasing to endpapers.
