Lot Description

Group of seven carved and painted canes late 19th/early 20th century

The first with carved oak leaves, deer, and lizards; the second with carved frogs, turtles, ram, honeycomb, canoe, anchor, and Oddfellows chain; the third with twisting snake with other figures and animals (bear, fish, horse, and Native American) entwined, inscribed "1893", retaining old paint surface; the fourth bearing the monogram "AV"; the fifth with twisting snakes and spikes, with fish, frog, duck, and beaver, inscribed "WRN 1871", the handle with man's head; the sixth and seventh with twisting snake.
