Publisher's green cloth, stamped in blind and in gilt, very slightly cocked and with corners bumped, lightly rubbed to joints and boards, spine ends slightly frayed; light scattered soiling margins; first volume with front hinge starting, second volume with front hinge stressed. Armorial bookplate on front paste downs Sadlier 3011. An exceptionally sound set of this popular and widely admired mid-Victorian novel of adventure and heroism at sea.
