Collation: A-P8, Q4; [16], (2)-205, [3], 1-24pp. Contemporary blind-paneled calf, rebacked with modern calf with burgundy spine label; clasps removed, boards rubbed and with some superficial cracks to leather; title page toned and light soiling, scattered spotting throughout but generally clean.. Some toning & dust smudging to title-page, scattered minor spotting but internally generally clean. Wing P1931; ESTC R4596; [Goldsmiths' 2868]; [Keynes 37] Sir William Petty (1623-1687), considered the founder of classical political economy and the first scientific economist, finished the manuscript of the above in 1672. His Verbum Sapienti represents the first rigorous assessments national income & worth.
