From the library of Edward Hugh Sothern and Julia Marlowe, and with their book-plate on the first free endpaper verso of the first volume. Illustrated with 144 engraved plates. Ex-library with book-plates on paste-downs, perforated and ink stamps to title-pages and some text; all plates free of perforated stamps. Early 20th century brown morocco; gilt-paneling; gilt-foliate cover with green and red gilt decorated morocco on-lays; gilt-foliate spine compartments, lightly worn with rubbed joints; top edges gilt, other edges trimmed; gilt foliate turn-ins; silk moiré endpapers, torn in the first volume; text and plates lightly toned; scattered foxing; ;scattered script in pencil to the margins of the second and third volumes.
