Lot Description

[Literature] [Henry Miller] (Porter, Bern) editor The Happy Rock: A Book about Henry Miller

(Berkeley: Packard Press), (1947). Copy number “One” of the “2nd issue” (limited to 2,250 copies). Lawrence Durrell’s copy, as evidenced by this copy being number one and his signed book-plate on front free endpaper, presumably a gift of appreciation from Miller or the publisher due to his contribution of the first essay, “The Happy Rock.” Also with Miller’s signed book-plate mounted to half-title. Ferdnand Leger-designed quarter grey cloth over pictorial boards; in Abraham Rattner-designed dust-jacket, lightly worn and toned; dated 1947.
