[Children's & Illustrated] Shepard, Ernest H. Fun & Fantasy, A Book of Drawings [from Punch]

London: Methuen & Co., Ltd, (1927). First trade edition. Introduction by A.A. Milne. Folio. With seven color plates, including frontispiece and one double-page plate, with black and white illustrations throughout. Original color paper pictorial boards. Moderately scuffed, edges rubbed, small paper losses at corners and spine ends, some stress and paper losss at joints; text and illustrations lightly toned, scattered light soiling in margins. Together with: Autograph Letter, signed Long Meadow, Longdown, Dec. 5, [1933]. 2pp. Small 4to. Signed by Shepard to Betty, "...I have been partially laid out with a vile cold... Mustard baths, my dear…hot whiskey at night. I had to venture out & go to the Cattle show at Islington yesterday (for Punch) and saw a lot of fine beasts..." Signed "Ernest" and incorporating a small pen and ink drawing of an ox within the body of the letter below the first line of the second page. On Shepard's embossed Long Meadow letter head. Manuscript strong and clear; light creasing along old horizontal fold. .
