Lot Description

A Japanese finely decorated and gilt small Satsuma-type pottery vase Meiji period, last quarter 19th century

Of ovoid form, two oval reserves, one depicting two woodcutters in a landscape with Fuji, the other with cockeral and hen by a riverside, below a fruiting tree, a gold "brocade" ground, inscribed seal mark to underside "Ikeda zo".
