Tornel, former Mexican Ambassador to the United States from 1829-1831 and Mexican Minister of War; Tornel was an instrumental voice under first President of the United Mexican States Guadalupe Victoria, helping suppress the Fredonian Rebellion, the beginning of the Texas Revolution.
