A FINELY CAST AND ENGRAVED TIBETAN GILT COPPER ALLOY FIGURE OF A SEATED BUDDHA 16th/17th century or earlier
Depicting either Shakyamuni Buddah or Akshobhya, the separately cast Buddha's robe comprised of a series of finely-engraved lotus "embroidered" patches, seated in bhumisparsha mudra with an alms bowl in the left hand. the lower border of the lotus petal base finely incised, sealing plate engraved with a double vajra, parcel-gilt.
