Lot Description

A finely-decorated Chinese famille rose porcelain "Boys" vase Republic period

The baluster-shaped vase supported on a low foot and rising to a swelling shoulder and tall waisted neck, decorated with a continuous scene of five boys at play with three rams, each holding auspicious objects, in an elegant garden with ornamental rocks and flowering plants, all set below a ruyi-head and bat border, the shoulder and neck with scrolling lotus against a yellow ground, the lip gilt, the foot encircled by a pink-enameled lappet band, the base with a four-character iron-red seal mark "Lin Zhi Cheng Xiang"; turquoise interior.
