Lot Description
A Chinese Ming-style incised white-glazed porcelain moonflask possibly 18th century
Raised on a rectangular foot, the convex circular sides incised with a large stylized rosette, surrounded by a narrow band of classic scroll, and repeated on the garlic mouth above the waisted neck, the pair of strap handles incised with a flower sprig. NOTE: For a closely related vase, see the example sold at Christie's New York, September 17, 2018, lot 249. The present vase and the example sold at Christie's are closely modelled on the "Tianbai"-glazed wares of the early Ming dynasty, produced during the Yongle reign and that following. Such close reproductions of early Ming porcelains were particularly popular during the Yongzheng and Qianlong periods.
