Lot Description
A Russian Lacquer-Mounted Commemorative Album and Cover in honor of the "Boyarin" Lukutin Factory, Korobovo, 1880-1903
Rectangular, and leather covered, the case mounted with a bone caving in the form of an isba wondow, centering a lacquer miniature portrait of Boyar Pyotr Potemkin aftre the portrait by Sir Godfrey Kneller, the cover also with silver mounts reading in Russian "Boyarin: God Will Assist" above ribbons and anchors, opening to reveal a leather bound photo album with the date "1903" carved in bone and a silver anchor and chain surrounding a lacquer miniature painting of a view of the Beklemishevskaya Tower of the Kremlin from the Moscow Bridge, the interior pages painted with watercolor borders by various artists.
