Lot Description

A Georgian gold and ivory mourning pin late 18th century

Of oval form, painted with female figure lamenting beside a covered urn on plinth beneath inscription, "HEAVEN HAS IN STORE WHAT THOU HATH LOST.," the reverse with space for hairwork and fitted with pin; together with two gold and enamel pendants, one circular with woman holding floral garland above recumbent sheep, and the second, oval with woman standing beside bird cage, all seemingly unmarked.
