*An unusual Chinese brass-mounted hardwood, possibly "zitan", brushpot guangxu mark and possibly of the period
Of a dark, dense wood with fine wavy grain and rippled surface effect, interior, lip and base covered by brass with rivet and X pattern, underside incised with a four-character Guangxu mark.
