A Chinese hardwood, possibly huanghuali, square recessed-waist low table
Of a heavy, dense warm brown timber, with feathery grain and scattered "eyes", the table decorated with a low-relief carved angular scroll frieze on square legs lerminating in squared scrolled feet.
