Lot Description

An Empire style ormolu-mounted mahogany collector's cabinet 19th century

Likely after the model by François-Honoré-Georges Jacob-Desmalter (French, 1770-1841), the rectangular top supported by two caryatid pilasters flanking a frieze drawer over single cabinet door banded with anthemia and centered by an applique of Bacchus and consorts in a chariot pulled by leopards, the door enclosing a set of fourteen drawers; the whole raised on ball feet.
