Lot Description

A fine French silver and silver-gilt pitcher in the Louis XV taste Frédéric Boucheron, Paris, last quarter 19th century

The baluster body very finely cast and etched with pastoral scenes of frères jouant beneath undulant spout enhanced by a cartouche of imbricated rocailles, watersplashes, and reeds, and mounted with foliate-cast scrolled handle; with gilt-washed interior enclosed by domed cover surmounted by elaborate finial in the form of flowering branches; the base etched with waves and rocailles, the underside engraved "Fic. Boucheron/Paris."
