Lot Description

A pair of Louis XVI white-painted fauteuils en cabriolet attributed to Georges Jacob (French, 1739-1814), circa 1780

With round channel-moulded backrest issuing straight scrolled arms with manchettes above serpentine U-form seat, the conforming seatrail above four patera-headed fluted tapering legs on toupie feet; each stamped "P" to underside of seatrail and to interior corner of rear leg with anchor surmounted by crown or fleur-de-lys, possibly for Château de Chanteloup; now upholstered in eau-de-nil silk velvet with cording in period taste.
