Lot Description

A large Republique française Sèvres ormolu-mounted pâte-sur-pâte vase 1887

With mottled blue ground, the lip with ormolu-mounted edge and parcel-gilt and cobalt bands, the body finely decorated with a cobalt and parcel-gilt trellis entwined with pâte-sur-pâte jasmine flowers; the foot similarly decorated and raised on low ormolu base; the underside with iron-red Sèvres stamp dated '87' and with incised and blue underglaze artist initials "E.D."
