Lot Description

A George II sterling silver-gilt salver with Royal association Robert Abercromby, London, 1736-37

Of shaped circular form with modeled angled border, the surface engraved with architectural and foliate motifs, the center later engraved with a crowned 'A' in a shield cartouche, surrounded by grotesques, serpents, lions and eagles on a strapwork and foliate scrolled ground, raised on four acanthus scrolled feet.
