Lot Description
A Charles II or William & Mary gilt-bronze mounted walnut calendar clock John Knibb, Oxford, circa 1690
The walnut case with four acorn finials and surmounted by handle, the gilt-bronze face mounted with four putto-form spandrels, with revolving date and centered by gilt-steel chapter ring with engraved and enamel numerals signed "John Knibb Oxon," the glazed sides and back revealing the eight-day double fusée movement with original verge escapement; the backplate very finely engraved with foliate arabesques and centered by a laurel wreath engraved "John Knibb/Oxon."
