Two miniatures in pearl-set giltmetal and bone-mounted frames frames possibly Kholmogory circa 1800
The miniatures likely French 19th century, the frames with filigree borders set with pearls, surrounding hand-etched bone insets with floral motifs, centering miniature portraits each bearing the signature "A. Roslin," the first depicting H.I.&R.H. Archduchess Maria Amalia of Austria, Duchess of Parma (1746-1804) after the portrait by Alexander Roslin (Swedish, 1718-1793), the second depicting H.M. King Stanislaw II Augustus of Poland, Grand Duke of Lithuania (1732-1798) after the portrait by Giovanni Battista Lampi (Austrian-Italian, 1751-1830). (2).
