Lot Description

A Continental porcelain hand-painted and parcel-gilt seven-piece Napoleonic tea service with apple green ground 19th century

Comprising teapot, covered sugar, circular tray, and four cups and saucers, decorated with scenes of Napoleon's rule: "Le Sacre de Napoléon" after Jacques-Louis David, "Combat de Heilsberg" after Sandoz, "Napoléon 1er et la Reine de Prusse à Tilsit" after Jean-Charles Tardieu, and "Bataille d'Iéna" and "Les Adieux de Fontainebleau" after Horace Vernet; the tray signed "Gossé," the teapot indistinctly signed, each with crowned N mark to underside; sold together with one additional repaired saucer.
