A pair of Chinese hardwood, possibly hongmu, side chairs 19th/20th century
Of a dense reddish-brown finely-grained timber, the scroll-back centered by two panels, the upper panel carved with angular scrollwork, over rectangular panelled seat with molded edge, pierced scroll skirt to front, beaded skirt to sides, all on square legs, scroll feet.
