Lot Description
A Chinese finely carved white jade "libation cup"-form vessel and cover qing dynasty, 18th century
Carved to show archaicized masks and stylized qilong within lappet panels, the subtly shaped "begonia blossom" lip finely incised with leiwen, as is the edge of the conforming cover, further incised with lappets, all raised on four stylized ruyi-head feet, the scrolled handle centered by a stylized floret, cover with a later carnelian pierced "scarab" finial; fitted wood stand; the stone with a pale celadon tint, with paler areas at the feet, sides, and end of lip, as well as to the cover; the later hardwood stand finely and elaborately carved with lingzhi and Buddha's-hand citron.
