Six-piece sterling silver tea service Bigelow, Kennard & Co., Boston, MA, late 19th century
In the Japonesque manner, with hand-hammered finish and cherry blossom motif, each with a different applied insect or amphibian: beetle, fly, ant, ladybug, dragonly, and frog; comprising a kettle-on-stand with burner, teapot, creamer, sugar, waste bowl; together with a related silver-plated tray, most pieces inscribed "H.A. Ames/Dec. 25, 1882" to underside.
