Lot Description

Large gold and ivory mourning pendant England or America, late 18th/early 19th century

Of oval form, painted with female spirit escaping from raised obelisk on architectural support, heightened by seed pearls, flanking oval plaque inscribed, "REST/ IN/ PEACE," startled female mourner sits beside, all within a verdant landscape, the reverse set with hair and seed pearl monogram, "MU," and fitted with loop and ring attachment, seemingly unmarked.
