A Chinese carved and inscribed inkstone qing dynasty, possibly 18th/early 19th century
The retangular stone of pale green and chocolate-brown, the top carved with a cloud-shaped ink basin, and an oval grinding platform, of various descending colors, the underside with a poem, which may be translated as "trickling water on this inkstone brings great pleasure, the patterns of the stone ..., and the fragrant ink evokes ancient ancestors."
