Lot Description
A Chinese famille noir porcelain figure of a man, with mounts attributed to Edward I. Farmer, New York kangxi period (the porcelain)
the standing figure with his left hand on his hip and right arm slightly raised, dressed in a black robe and yellow trousers, with extended tongue and cloud-shaped eyebrows, the mounted on a Rococo style ormolu base, and bearing two painted glass lanterns on a shoulder pole, intertwined with porcelain flowers. The present work is accompanied by a copy of an appraisal letter from Mrs. Alexander Schaffer, A La Vieille Russie, New York, dated June 1, 1978, stating the lamp was made by Edward Farmer & Company, circa 1925.
