(African-Americana) 2 Vols. Stowe, Harriet Beecher. Uncle Tom's Cabin; or, Life among the Lowly. Boston: John P. Jewett, 1852. First edition, first printing. 12mo, original gilt-pictorial and blind stamped brown cloth; light edge wear, corners slightly bumped, both volumes a little cocked. With title vignettes and 6 plates. Scattered light to occasionally moderate foxing, very occasional minor dust smudging, vol. 1 title page slightly and unevenly trimmed along the fore edge, small tear to p. 243/244 in vol. 1, text at bottom of p. 244 in vol. 1 faded (bleached?) away, signatures 21-23 in vol. 1 just sprung. Early 20th century ink ownership signatures at head of title-pages and front free endpapers. With ticket at foot of back paste down of vol. 2 "Deacidified / 1990." In custom green morocco gilt slipcase and cloth chemises.
