(Americana : Social Science) 2 Vols Presentation Copies. Keller, Helen: We Bereaved. New York: Leslie Fulenwider, (1929). First edition. 12mo, original blind stamped black cloth; minor wear. Internally clean. Bright, tight copy in custom quarter green morocco, gilt, and cloth slipcase, and cloth chemise. Signed and inscribed in pencil on front free endpaper recto by Helen Keller: "To Phillip / With affection / From / Sister Helen / February 5th 1940." Strong, clear signature and inscription. * (idem). Adamson, Joy. Born Free, A Lioness of Two Worlds. (New York): Pantheon, (1960). Large 8vo, original gilt-pictorial olive cloth, moderate edge wear, some scuffing. Color photo frontispiece, full-page and other photo illustrations, map. Some spotting, mounted newspaper clipping on page 220 - causing some discoloration. In custom quarter brown morocco, gilt, and cloth slipcase, and cloth chemise.
Presentation copy from Helen Keller to a nephew and two nieces, Brooks, Candice and Margo, dated "Feb 25 1965" and inscribed in pencil on the front free endpaper recto presumably in a secretarial hand, and signed below the proxy inscription closing ("Devotedly your aunt") in pencil by Helen Keller.
