4to, 215mm x 155mm (top margin thus trimmed 5mm). Gilt-illuminated ca. 15th-century (or earlier) antiphonal leaf over boards, gilt title upper spine (in Greek) "Epist(olai) Philosoph(on)", gilt "1499" partially obscured on tail; some soiling (especially at joints and back panel), chipping and minor loss of vellum at edges, splits owing to desiccation at front panel upper hinge (7cm) and lower hinges (2cm) not affecting boards or soundness. Vestigial cataloger's fore-edge titles in brown ink, toned, shelf-marked "epistolae diversoru(m)", "(apud Aldum, Musurus edidit)." Modern re-casing, modern end-papers. Internally bright, crisp; most gatherings likely washed (but compare in contrast browning at Part I gathering "zeta"). Gilt-illuminated chapter headings. 26 lines text 148mm x 100mm. Types 2:114R (titles, colophons) and 2:114Gk (text).

Parts I and II bound in reverse order. Part I: [266] leaves (leaf 86 blank, so, too 99verso). Part II: [138] leaves (138 blank). 404 leaves in toto. Printed catchwords, old rubricated foliation at top margins Part II. Signatures in Greek. Text collates complete including all blanks called-for in scholarly bibliographies.
