First edition. 8vo, original green cloth; top edges of binding lightly to moderately sunned, other small areas of binding slightly sunned, dust jacket (minor creasing and small chipping primarily to front panel edges and joint of front flap - lettering, design elements, and price completely intact). Internally clean, tight, generally attractive copy (Very Good/Very Good+) in custom gilt-paneled and lettered green morocco slip case and black cloth chemise.
Signed presentation copy inscribed to Irma Wyckoff (the secretary of Hemingway's editor, Maxwell Perkins). On front free endpaper recto: "To Irma Wyckoff / with very many thanks / and much appreciation / Ernest Hemingway." Clear, dark inscription, strong clear signature.
