Lot Description

An American ebony-inlaid tiger oak cash register National Cash Register Co., Dayton, Ohio, circa 1891

Of typical form, the case and drawer inlaid with Greco-Roman anthemion and wave motifs, the main section mounted with a dedication plaque reading: "Presented to Malcolm and Bertie Forbes with appreciation for a September weekend their NCR guests will long remember. Robert S. Oelman, R. Stanley Laing"; several tabs and keys humorously altered; the drawer with modeled gargoyle pull.
