A Dresden painted porcelain plaque The Penitent Magdalen, second half 19th century
After the painting by Coreggio, depicting the Magdalen contemplating her sin, the law, and her own mortality represented by a skull, within a bucolic landscape. The reverse with indistinct inscriptions in pencil "Magdalena.. Battoni" and "BC 22" with a red wax seal of a royal crown and "Dresden".
