Lot Description

Fine pair of Restauration inlaid bois clair fauteuils Jean-Jacques Werner (1791-1849), circa 1825

Each with rectangular padded back and scrolled crest inlaid with palmettes and paterae, the bowed seatrail similarly inlaid, with S-scroll arms resting above lappets issuing sabre legs with scroll feet, upholstered in crimson silk with gold embroidery of Grecian style; each bearing the trade label "J. J. Werner, Rue de Grenelle, St. Germain, No. 126, Paris" and one inscribed "Salon de M. de L."

H: 37 1/2, W: 23, D: 19 in.
