Pietro Paoletti (Italian, 1801-1847) Collection of Grand Tour plaster intaglios, Rome, early 19th century

Comprising twenty-four volumes of faux-book boxes, each with marbled covers and gilt-tooled leather bindings, fitted with an assortment of plaster casts of engraved cameos, sculptures, and monuments with hand inscribed catalogue of contents to front and back inside covers, with twenty-two marked to spine "Paoletti Impronte" and bearing the following titles: Munumenti Invariluoghi, Museo Capitolino (2), Museo di Firenze e di Parigi, Museo di Napoli Albani e Sommariva, Museo Sommariva, Museo Vaticano (2), Opere Antiche (5), Opere di Canova, Opere di Gibson, Opere di Thorwaldsen (2), Opere di Thorwaldsen e Gibson, Opere di Vari Autori (2), and Volumini Illustri (2); and with two marked to spine "Cades Impronte" and bearing the titles Gemme Antiche and Monumenti Invariluoghi.
