Charles II silver tobacco box Daniel Rutty, London, 1661-62
Oval form raised on four bun feet, the hinged cover engraved with a Bishop's mitre within ribbon-tied plume surround, with hinged latch to front, the interior with later engraved commemorative inscription reading "This Tobacco box of Bishop Sanderson, descended to me as follows: A.D. 1717 Neville King married Mary Middlemore, only child of Richd Middlemore by Elizabeth (Sanderson) his wife, daughter of Dr. Thomas Sanderson, who was the eldest son of the The Right Revd Loyal and Learned Casuist. Ashby Hall 1873 John Wm King BD 6th in descent."
