Lot Description

George I gilt-gesso torchère circa 1720 or later, in the manner of James Moore

The hexagonal top above tapering standard finely carved with a faceted collar of rosettes above a collar of lion masks, raised on serpentine legs and hairy paw feet, the whole carved throughout to show scrolling foliage on a punched ground.

H: 42 1/2, D: 20 1/2 in.
