Circular dial finely enameled with Roman hours and signed "Acrain a Paris", within gilt and patinated bronze altar form case cast with torches to each corner and surmounted by a flaming tripod, flanked by a classically draped figure of Venus offering a heart, raised on rosso marble and gilt bronze base and tortoise form feet.
