Lot Description

Monumental gilt bronze mounted Sèvres style porcelain urn late 19th century

Surmounted by a domed cover, the baluster form vase with gilt decoration on a cobalt ground, the body finely painted with a battle scene, signed "H. Desprez", opposite a view of Fontainebleau, mounted with twin gilt bronze handles suspending loose rings and raised on gilt bronze base, with spurious Sèvres marks to cover.
