Lot Description

Collection of Sassanian seals Persia, 7th century A.D. and earlier

Comprising twelve seals in various materials including chalcedony and carnelian with engravings including a duck walking right, a cockerel walking right, a horse walking right, a lion, an antelope, recumbent felines, heads in profile, a male figure holding a diadem, a fire altar, and others; together with a rectangular iron pendant cast with figurative scenes to each side and three excavated spear arrow heads. (approx. 16).
