Lot Description

Wedgwood jasper covered urn first half 19th century

Tapering form, mounted with twin volute handles, the pale blue body applied with festoons and medallions depicting Hercules wrestling the Nemean lion opposite an image of Hope resting on an anchor all beneath a segmented frieze depicting various creatures from the labors of Hercules, surmounted by cover, impressed Wedgwood to base.

H: 12 1/2, W: 7, D: 5 3/4 in.
