Egyptian painted cartonnage footcase Late Roman period, circa 1st century A.D.

Painted in polychrome and gilt, the upper side molded and painted to show toes surrounded by simulated mosaic, the underside painted to show two bound and naked captives, on custom stand housed in acrylic and wood case.
