Lot Description

Pair of Dutch engraved light-baluster wine glasses mid 18th century

One finely engraved with inscription reading "Al wat ü lief is" above three allegorical female figures emblematic of faith, hope and charity, the other with inscription reading "de goede nego otie" above a three mast ship flanked by figures of Poseidon and Mercury emblematic of overseas trade, each raised on tall stem with disc knop above inverted baluster stem, each with rough pontil mark.
