Lot Description

William and Mary walnut and fruitwood marquetry tall case clock late 17th century

The hood with molded cornice and barley twist columns, the brass dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture signed "Sampson Jackson de Thorpe fecit", flanked by winged putti mask spandrels, the case door inlaid to show a bird perched among flowers, raised on a floral inlaid plinth base.
