Lot Description

Tibetan coral and turquoise mounted silver and jade ewer 18th/19th century

Baluster form, the jade and silver cover surmounted by a foliate cast finial encircled by coral pendants, the silver mounted neck centered by a jade band and set with bands of coral and turquoise cabochons continuing to the shoulder and stopping above a frieze of parcel gilt cartouches cast to show the bajixiang, the lower portion jade, mounted with handle cast as a sinuous dragon and spout issuing from a dragon mask and raised on a high foot encircled by three tiers of turquoise cabochons.
