Lot Description

Assembled set of five Chinese Export porcelain eagle-decorated plates 19th century

Each with rust and blue decorative border, three with floral sprays surrounding a central, shield-bearing eagle with banner inscribed, "T Plusibus Unum {sic}" in its beak and a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its respective talons; the remaining two with central, shield-bearing eagle clutching a twelve star American flag in one talon, and a Qing Dynasty flag in the other.
